Getting to McCormick Vision Source: Directions & Parking

outside McCormick building BlogWhether you're a longtime patient or visiting McCormick Vision Source for the first time, finding the new office location should be simple—if you know what to look for.

With road construction and multiple ways to access the office, we want to make sure your trip is as smooth as possible.

Where We Are Located

McCormick Vision Source is in The Stratum, Building C at 11044 Research Blvd, Suite C100, Austin, TX 78759. The office sits between Duval Road and Braker Lane, and you can access it from either Research Blvd (183) or Jollyville Road.

Driving Directions

  • If you're coming from the north on Research Blvd (183): Take the Duval Road exit and continue through the Duval traffic light. Pass the Floral Park light, and the entrance to The Stratum complex will be on your right.
  • If you're coming from the south on Research Blvd (183): Due to ongoing roadwork, exits may shift. Use Duval Road as your reference point—if you pass Braker Lane, you’ve gone too far.
  • If you're coming from Jollyville Road: Look for Floral Park. After the Floral Park stoplight, take the second entrance on the left into the parking garage.

Landmarks to Watch For

  • The Stratum Executive Center: The office is in a complex of four five-story buildings. Look for large signage that says “The Stratum” on a dark gray building.
  • Tombstone-Style Signage: There is a small business directory sign in front of the building.

Parking Information

  • Surface Parking: Available from the Research Blvd entrance.
  • Parking Garage: Entering from Jollyville Road? Take an immediate left to go up to the surface level—otherwise, you may hit a dead-end.
  • Reserved Parking: McCormick Vision Source has designated spots in both surface parking and the garage—look for our name on the signs.

Accessibility & Special Considerations

McCormick Vision Source is designed to be accessible for all patients, including those with mobility concerns.

If you're bringing someone who uses a wheelchair or has difficulty walking long distances, we recommend using the Research Blvd entrance.

  • This entrance has a circular driveway where you can drop off passengers right at the front of the building before parking.
  • The main building entrance has automatic doors, making entry easy.

For those parking in the garage from Jollyville Road, there are elevators to bring you to the surface level and closer to the office.

Public Transportation Options

While McCormick Vision Source is located near major roads, public transit options are somewhat limited. There is likely a bus stop along the 183 corridor, but we recommend checking CapMetro’s website or using Google Maps for the most up-to-date public transportation routes.

What to Expect When You Arrive

Once you’ve found parking and entered the building, head to Suite C100 on the ground floor.

Here’s what to do next:

  1. Check In at the Front Desk – If you’ve completed your paperwork online, great! If not, you can fill it out on a provided tablet.
  2. Pre-Testing – A technician will guide you through preliminary eye tests. These are quick, non-invasive scans to gather important information about your vision.
  3. Doctor’s Exam – Your optometrist will conduct a full eye health assessment and review your prescription needs.
  4. Frames & Contact Lens Selection – If you need new glasses, an optician will help you pick the right pair and go over lens options. Contact lens wearers may have a fitting session.
  5. Checkout & Scheduling – The front desk team will finalize payments, insurance details, and schedule any follow-up visits as needed.

Pickup Information for Glasses & Contacts

If you’ve ordered new glasses or contact lenses, here’s what to expect:

  • Glasses: Typically ready in 10 business days. You’ll receive a notification when they’re available. While we can mail them in special cases (e.g., college students), we recommend picking them up in person so we can adjust the fit.
  • Contact Lenses: If your prescription is finalized, contacts can often be shipped directly to your home for added convenience.
